Suitable Formations & Drilling Methods

  • Suitable Formations: Soil layer, mudstone, soft shale, soft red sandstone, loose sand layer, and other soft rock & slightly soft formations with F≤4.
  • Drilling Method: Rotary drilling. Recommended with clean water or low-solid mud circulation.
  • Operation Advice: Utilize drag structure and open design for efficient cuttings removal. Control WOB and RPM to avoid excessive load and blade wear.
  • Not Recommended For: Medium-hard and harder formations (F>4, e.g., limestone, granite, etc.).
